Forum rules

In order to give ocarina makers a chance to edit their own information and add news and updates in the opening post of a thread dedicated to their business we ask you to follow the following rule:

If you are making a thread about another ocarina brand, only post factual information in the opening post. If that ocarina brand has a representative on Little Geese: The Ocarina Forum, it would be best to let them create a topic for themselves. Otherwise, if you want to post your opinion or a review, you can create a new post directly after making the first post to do so. Keep in mind that the first post of any thread in this subforum may be completely deleted to be used by the ocarina brand representative that is being discussed in the thread.

If you are an ocarina maker or a representative of an ocarina brand and wish to have a topic dedicated to your business, feel free to start your own, unless it already exists, in which case, please contact the user Bas or send an e-mail to , so that we can arrange it so that you can have the opening post.

Hi,
I had saw your site some time ago and it looks amazing.
Your double chamber is nice, but with just 3holes in the second chamber what is the range of it?

Hi Christoph, welcome to the Forum!

This is an old double ocarina by Christoph I bought two years ago in Budrio:

It is one of my favourite ocarinas. Its sound is perfect, as well as balance of chambers - you can barely hear any difference when switching chambers. It plays like a normal Vicinelli-type double, but it has two split holes to make playing F#, G# and high B (natural) on the second chamber easy. Its shape is a bit funny, but that was from the time Christoph focused on getting the sound perfect, leaving shape optimization for later.

I was very lucky to try Christoph's new doubles at the festival. (Edit: See Jade's post just below this) They are probably the easiest double ocarinas to play, due to their clever shape.

Present models play the notes: E, F, F#, G, G# and A on the second chamber. However, Christoph told me he has plans to make a new model that plays D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G# and A (with the thumb hole), which would be identical to Pacchioni's fingering, but without the low C and C#.

Dear Jade, Bas and Krešimir,

I very much enjoyed meeting you at the festival and it's so good to hear from you again here.
Thank you for all of your kind words.

Greetings to you Miguel,

I think your question is already answered by Krešimir.
The ambition of the 3-hole double is to be easily playable.
You can find more explanations here http://ocarina-studio.com/3_hole_double.html.

Dear Robert,

nice to have met you in Budrio. Your results after such a short time are amazing.
I especially like the ornamental work you do. I am looking forward to see you continue.

Hi Everybody,

I have finished some new doubles with Pacchioni fingering and an additional thumbhole for the high a:

The range of the lower chamber is h to e and the upper chamber is h to a.
I put some pictures on my website http://ocarina-studio.com
See you in Budrio.

Christoph

I rarely tend to post here but I have to say this:

These are some of the most well crafted multichamber ocarinas I had the honor to play.
The time and care that went into properly tuning the one in my possession is something I rarely see 'out-of-the-box'.

I don't see a price list or ordering information anywhere on the site.

Edit: I have now added the shop link that Christoph gave below.
