my last two ocarinas are UGLY, but I do not care---that visual aesthetic that I do understand, is simply not important at this time…AND the experiments I had questioned worked and worked well. My answers, in my case, were correct; the windchannel and BLOWING END of the channel are now better understood. AND

micro shaving of the window made the difference, BUT one must be there with the ocarina while it dries to do this window shaving and tuning….videos of folk making the channel and voicing in 2 minutes is amazing---I simply can’t do it.

These are fairly quiet with only a bit of increase breath required, two goals are being approached!

it’s a happy day.

BUT (ha), I’m using a mixture of clays (20% earthenware and 80% shale) and have no idea the firing shrinkage rate, so they may all be sharp, so, next time I’ll add more grog!

working on the new camera. I hate reading manuals and can't understand one point, but when I do, I shall include pictures

Please, share pictures. This is very interesting. And could you elaborate a bit more on "window shaving and tuning"? What do you mean by that?
