Does the windway look too large? After drying my top note got airy. Maybe a smaller windway and more teardrop shape will fix the issue?

Do you think this soundhole is too large? I get sound for all eight notes but as it dried the top note got airy sounding. Perhaps a smaller soundhole more tear drop shaped shoud fix these.

Hi
What are the measures of the hole voicing?
A eye, you should still do it playing for only 8 holes.
If you want a suggestion, reduce the width of at least 2 or 3 millimeters.

I agree, the voicing is way to wide for this size ocarina so reducing it's with to more in the 7 to 8mm range would probably work better. Great shape for your ocarinas especially a great start. Mine looked so much rougher when I first started out.

Thanks spirit, those are kind words. I haven't had much time to experiment the past couple of days but will work on it this weekend hopefully and let you all know how it goes.

Update: Thanks to you both. I have managed to have some success by narrowing the sound hole a bit and making a more defined tear drop shape. The passage was already about 8mm so I think that the teardrop is what improved it so vastly. I am able now to make ten holes and have good sound. Hopefully it remains so when it dries. Also, I am using a popsicle stick for the windway, I may try going with a more narrow device. Would this be advisable? I read somewhere that the soundhole should directly relate to the windway size.
