Forum rules

In order to give ocarina makers a chance to edit their own information and add news and updates in the opening post of a thread dedicated to their business we ask you to follow the following rule:

If you are making a thread about another ocarina brand, only post factual information in the opening post. If that ocarina brand has a representative on Little Geese: The Ocarina Forum, it would be best to let them create a topic for themselves. Otherwise, if you want to post your opinion or a review, you can create a new post directly after making the first post to do so. Keep in mind that the first post of any thread in this subforum may be completely deleted to be used by the ocarina brand representative that is being discussed in the thread.

If you are an ocarina maker or a representative of an ocarina brand and wish to have a topic dedicated to your business, feel free to start your own, unless it already exists, in which case, please contact the user Bas or send an e-mail to , so that we can arrange it so that you can have the opening post.

Hello everyone.
My name is Hyunil Ko, I am the maker of WoodSound wooden ocarina.
It is very nice to meet you on this forum.

My biggest concern is scientific research on the ocarina.
I have made and reseached ocarina with Maparam ocarina maker Minsoo Kim since 16 years ago.

Making wooden ocarina is hard and difficult work, but it is a very attractive and exciting work.
If you have any questions, Give me E-mail or message anytime.

Welcome, Mr. Hyunil Ko. It is a great privilege to have you here on Little Geese: The Ocarina Forum.

I tried a WoodSound soprano C during the festival in Budrio. It is a beautiful instrument. :D

I agree! They are beautiful, but I could never afford such a masterpiece.

Yesterday I received my Bubinga Double Alto C from Mr. Ko and I can easily say it's the most beautiful instrument I have played so far!

The sound is sweet and pure and it is perfectly tuned. The Bubinga wood has a lovely warm red-brown shade and it shimmers like satin.
The surface is really smooth and the wood is well aligned. The weight and the finger holes are absolutely comfortable.

It came inside a wooden box with 4 CDs, a soft bag and the fingering chart. The CDs were a nice unexpected bonus. I have not hear many ocarina recordings yet, so this is very interesting for me.

I really have to stop myself from playing it too much already!

It does not feel like a business transaction. It feels like a gift! One that I will treasure very much!

Just curious, I'm intrigued by the Woodsound Duplet ocarina, the inline one shown here: http://www.woodenocarina.com/gallery.html (First page, last thumbnail) I've searched the website, but I can't find a price.

Can anyone, or Hyunil Ko, tell me if these are still made and at what price? Any info is much appreciated. :)

The Duplet ocarina is not a standard product of WoodSound.
It was made for an Austrian ocarina ensemble,2007.
Now I am some busy to make standard products, So I have no time to make it.

Duplet ocarina is different with Double ocarina.
The main purpose of Double ocarina is 'Extend range'
But Duplet ocarina is for 'Harmony'.

If you have more questions about order to it, Give me E-mail anytime.

Am I the only one who winced as I watched the video? ... Am I the only one who thought that the clay ocarinas looked suspiciously similar to MapAram?
