I need help in identifying this ocarina. It's a 9-hole ocarina (no right thumb hole). I think it was made around 1900. It has a distinctive mouthpiece that is wider and flatter than most other ocarinas. It has a stamp on it that I think says "KO" or "KR" or "KV" . Any ideas on which ocarina this is and where it originated?

I prefer my ocarinas to be toothless.

To me it looks like an ocarina like a donati. That would be around him time period. It seems like his style, wide mouth piece slender body. But I'm not sure.

It's too smooth to be a Donati. His ocarinas were lumpier.

It looks nothing like any Donatis I have seen.

And Ross, it may look familiar because Wollemi also posted a thread about it on TON at one point. I had an I'VE SEEN THAT BEFORE moment before I realized who posted the topic.

The tip (towards the right pinkie) looks different, and the mouthpiece looks similar but when looking closer still has a lot of differences.

Really it doesn't matter anyways, I was just showing the similarities. Donati used a different makers stamp then RS etc.

I don't know who is the maker of this ocarina, but I guarantee you it is not a Donati ocarina, or any old ocarina from Budrio. Ocarinas of Donati, Mezzetti, Vicinelli, Chiesa and Cesari are very, very different to this one. Not even close - except they are both ocarinas.

And on that video from Songbird where Mr. Gosselink is playing a Donati ocarina, it is very difficult to see the ocarina itself, so I wouldn't use that for a comparison.
